William Bailey Travel invites you to come with us as we take a closer look at the sites you won’t want to miss on your visit to Santa Barbara

One of the major draws to Santa Barbara is the Spanish architecture. The best example of this is Mission Santa Barbara. It sits on a hill overlooking the city and offers stunning panoramic views of the cityscape and the surrounding countryside. It’s the perfect place for snapping pictures and capturing the beauty of this area. Right downtown is another perfect example of the architecture that dominates in this city. The Presidio Santa Barbara was a former military installation and chapel that was built in 1782. If you are looking for a bird’s eye view of the city proper from a downtown vantage point, you will want to climb to the top of the open air tower of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse. It was built in the Spanish-Moorish style and has the quintessential red tiled roof.

If you want to get out and experience the wildlife and the landscape of the area, be sure to visit the Los Padres National Forest. It is located just beyond the city, right next to the Santa Ynez Mountains. There are several secluded wilderness areas situated here that will have you communing with nature and getting your daily exercise in.

This is a city that is known for its stunning outdoor appeal as they have perfect weather all the time. You might catch a glimpse of snow caps on the mountains, but an actual flake hasn’t hit the city since 1939 and its still talked about. So no matter the weather where you are, it’s always summer in Santa Barbara, and the perfect time to explore and take in the California dream.
